Onoyama Park is best known for being the main stage for the NAHA Marathon held every December with 20,000 participants. The park is fully equipped with a multipurpose playground, athletic field, and other facilities. With a marathon course and playground equipment, the park is designed to be enjoyed by people of all ages. Kita Meiji Bridge, which is a pedestrian path, connects the park directly to Tsubogawa Station for easy access. Every February, a professional baseball team sets up their training camp at the park and there are multitudes of events held throughout the year.

A Ramsar Convention Registered Wetland

Located where downstream Kokuba River and Noha River merge, Manko Lane is an estuary with an expansive mangrove forest that is home to multitudes of water birds. The wetland was registered by the Ramsar Convention in 1999 as an important habitat for migrating birds and the black-faced spoonbill, which is an endangered species.

The Manko Waterbird and Wetland Center opened in 2003 as a place to introduce water birds and wetlands to people. With permanent exhibits, an observatory, and a mangrove tree-path, the facility is a location for people to become familiar with nature and think about environmental conservation. The are also events held to observe seasonal water birds and migrating birds.
