Rock-paved street in Shuri Kinjo-cho

Rock-paved street in Shuri Kinjo-cho

This was a primary road built and used during the Ryukyu Kingdom. The road originally stretched all the way from Naha Bay to southern Okinawa, but much of the road was destroyed during the Battle of Okinawa. Local residences' red tiled roofs surrounding the 300 meter long road create a nostalgic, old-fashioned aura.
